A tasting notebook for collectors — wine, whiskey, coffee, cigars — that lives entirely on your device. No account. No cloud sync of your cellar. Your bottle list never becomes someone's ad audience.
Most collection apps begin with an account and a hosted list. Spreadsheets avoid that trade, but become awkward to search and maintain. Fine Notes is a structured, searchable tasting notebook whose collection data stays on the device by default.
Many collection apps require an account and remote storage before you can log a bottle. That is the wrong default for a private collection.
Excel cellar trackers stop working at bottle 40, hate photo attachments, and can't tell you what to drink tonight from the case in the garage.
Market values move, but a spreadsheet rarely stays current. Fine Notes keeps your price paid and your own current-value estimate beside the item without publishing your collection.
Your buddy texts "what was that bourbon you loved?" — you scroll for ten minutes through photos trying to find it. And you don't want to join a social feed to send him the note.
Fine Notes runs on a single encrypted on-device store. You pick which vertical you collect on first launch — wine, whiskey, coffee, cigars, or any combination — and the right fields appear by default. Everything you log stays on your phone unless you explicitly share it.
Every bottle, bag, tin, or box — named, categorized, placed in a location, dated, valued, and counted. The current MVP favors dependable manual entry over an unproven camera or cloud lookup.
Real tasting fields — nose, palate, finish (or aroma, body, acidity, aftertaste for coffee) — plus a 100-point rating, a meal-pairing log, and a chronological history. Search every word you've ever written.
Record what you paid and maintain a current-value estimate yourself. The current MVP performs no public-price lookup and sends no item query to a valuation service.
Serious collectors specifically don't want a public feed, a follower graph, or a recommendation algorithm running over their drinking history. Fine Notes has none of those — and it still lets you hand a friend a tasting note like you'd hand them the bottle.
Tap Share Note on any entry. Fine Notes writes that single note to a passphrase-encrypted file and opens your device's share sheet. Your friend imports the file and enters the passphrase. They never receive the rest of your collection. There is no relay server, Fine Notes account, or friend graph.
On first launch, Fine Notes asks which vertical(s) you collect. The default detail card reshapes to match — wine fields look like wine fields, not like a generalist's attempt at a bottle form. Switch verticals any time. One subscription covers all four.
For the collector with 40+ bottles, a varied case strategy, and a notebook of drink windows. Keep the details and notes together, then search “what GSM under $40 did I love?” and actually get an answer.
Bourbon, rye, scotch, world whisky — the fields that actually matter to a collector. Track which bottle is open, the proof, the cask type, and the batch number. A per-bottle pour log helps you remember exactly when you opened the Stagg.
For third-wave hobbyists, not commodity drinkers. Track every bag from roaster to last gram. Log your dose, yield, time, and grind — then find the brew you nailed three months ago.
Vitola, wrapper, factory code, humidor location, RH log, smoke length. The cigar app most collectors are missing because the existing options are either ad-funded or last updated in 2019.
Every product decision answers to these three. If a feature would compromise any of them, we ship the feature differently — or we don't ship it.
There is no signup, no email login, no password recovery, no “verify your phone.” Open Fine Notes and it works. The app cannot sell what it never collected.
Your collection, tasting notes, ratings, and history live in an AES-256-GCM encrypted local vault. Fine Notes has no server copy and cannot recover it for you.
Only the note you select is placed in a passphrase-encrypted export file. You choose the share destination and should send the passphrase separately. There is no Fine Notes relay or friend graph.
The planned price is one subscription for all four verticals and unlimited items. Final pricing, trial eligibility, cancellation, and refunds are shown by the app store.
MAJESTIC MADE is an Alabama-based studio building a suite of cloudless apps for the data that consumer products routinely upload. Fine Notes is the eighth product in that suite — same engine, same thesis, applied to the collection sitting on your shelf.
Separating February 2027 to build MAJESTIC MADE full-time. Fine Notes is being built in the same disciplined cadence as the rest of the suite — validate, ship, listen, iterate.
Sibling products: Lockbox (family vault), Tally (budget), What We Own (home inventory), Paws (pet records), Brassmark (firearm registry), Tender Days (baby tracker), Pantry Clock (pantry).
The planned launch offer unlocks every supported vertical without per-item or per-vertical tiers. Final pricing and availability are confirmed by the app store.
